Fish Aboriginal Bark Painting
Aboriginal bark Painting of a Fish by January Nonganyari
Object type: Aboriginal Bark Painting
Locality: Crocker Island
Artist: January Nonganyari
Circa: 1960’s
Width: 67 cm
Description:
This is a classic X-Ray depiction of an iconic Barramundi by a well respected artist. It has the simplicity of all great early Crocker island Art. Some loss of pigment on the tail and some curling of the bark means it does not lie completely flat and would need a 3cm deep box frame ideally to preserve it.
